Job SummaryThe Estimator is responsible for supporting the preconstruction effort for one or more disciplines, quantity survey, subcontractor solicitation, and independent research of specified items, including the determination of applicable project plans, specifications and supporting documentation.

Job Responsibilities- Prepare consistently accurate, detailed, quantity surveys.
- Identify, research and obtain relevant information, through independent research, related to items for which they are tasked with quantifying or soliciting subcontractor proposals.
- Independently develop complete project cost estimate package for projects in a range up to $5m, depending on complexity.
- Attend preconstruction meetings to learn project information and gain exposure to external customer interactions.
- Aware of the local subcontractor community and ability to understand and differentiate capabilities of the subcontractors being solicited for proposals.
- Able to discuss project scope clearly and effectively during the subcontractor solicitation process.
Qualifications- Bachelors degree within the construction field.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (Timberline or similar), and scheduling software (Primavera or similar).
- Careful attention to detail and resourcefulness in acquiring project specific information.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple tasks under differing deadlines.
- Able to work flexible hours as needed or required by project or proposal deadlines.

Capable of traversing over construction-type terrain when under development; moving through the construction site and the materials in place for use on the site; climbing ladders and temporary stairways; conducting visual inspections of quality of construction and materials being used in construction.
