Responsibilities
- Settle or claims habitation, automobile, motorcycle, long haul trucking, commercial, warranty program, etc.
- Determine/assess coverage of claim.
- Conduct investigation: statements, establish loss, proceed with settlement, negotiate, etc.
- Determine subrogation potential and proceed.
- Guide and direct external vendors for effective investigation, control, and facilitation of claims.
- Prepare any correspondence or file reports.
- Process payments (or denial) in accordance with established authority.
- Maintain timely and accurate claim reserves on files.
- Actively manage claims audit program.
- Some travel is involved.
Who You Are
- College certificate.
- Personal-lines Damage Insurance and Commercial-line Damage Insurance Claims Adjuster AMF permit.
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- CIP or FCIP designation or working towards is an asset.
- Bilingual (French and English), as you will be communicating with colleagues and customers in other provinces.
- Strong business writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a claims department with evolving duties and responsibilities.
- Proficient in Word & Excel.
