Data collection will be part of two U.S. Department of Energy funded energy efficiency field studies. The goals of these field studies include determining industry standard practice for energy efficiency in new residential and commercial construction and identifying areas for improvement to inform future training, education, and outreach efforts. The position will be for 12 months, starting in December 2024, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Who is PSD?
PSD is a rapidly growing national leader in the building science and energy efficiency industries. PSD’s passionate team of energy efficiency professionals works hard every day to develop and deliver creative and powerful solutions that drive change in the way buildings use energy. - Observing and recording data on pre-drywall air barrier and insulation measures, heating, cooling, and hot water appliance types and efficiencies, window U-factors and SHGCs, and lighting.
- Performing blower door and duct leakage testing, including measuring building dimensions, and calculating conditioned floor area and volume.
- Recording inspection observations and testing results with photo documentation in a tablet-based app.
This position is remote with significant travel within Pennsylvania and Delaware consisting of multiple consecutive overnight stays.
