The City of Inver Grove Heights seeks an Assistant Finance Director. This is a full-time, exempt, non-union benefited position. The hiring range is $50.55/hr. - $56.40/hr.
The Assistant Finance Director is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department. This position performs complex and technical analysis and accounting work in accordance with GAAP for the public sector. Leads in the development of accounting controls and procedures; assists in the preparation of the City's annual budget; submits financial reports to a variety of agencies; acts as primary administrator of financial software.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field and at least 5 years of progressively responsible public accounting experience.
Desirable:
Additional experience and work in the Finance Department of a Minnesota city or county; Public sector supervisory experience in a union environment.
