Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, uses knowledge and skills obtained through experience, specialized training and/or certification in the financial services industry to ensure that Private Client Banking (PCB) business operations are conducted in a manner that sufficiently mitigates material risks to RJ Bank. The position is part of the RJ Bank Oversight & Control (O&C) Department which functions as the first line of defense for RJ Bank. Primary responsibilities include performing first line testing and monitoring of PCB controls, supporting PCB management during internal audits and regulatory exams, and partnering with key internal stakeholders to ensure deficiencies in the PCB control framework are appropriately addressed. The position also requires strong analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments to identify creative solutions to complex problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implements the PCB first line of defense program within the RJ Bank O&C Department to ensure that material risks are identified and appropriately mitigated within established risk tolerances.
- Specializes in Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reporting requirements implemented under Reg C applicable to RJ Bank residential mortgage lending and purchased residential mortgage loans.
- Conducts first line testing and monitoring of HMDA reportable transactions to assess the accuracy and integrity of the LAR and effectiveness of controls at ensuring compliance with Reg C requirements.
- Assesses control testing results against intended outcomes to identify the root cause and impact of control breakdowns and develop practical solutions for deficiencies identified.
- Manages complex data sets using Risk Exec software and other internal resources to perform in depth analyses of the HMDA data extracted from the loan origination system.
- Produces periodic metrics and reporting summarizing HMDA monitoring and testing activities to support key business objectives and inform management of trends or emerging risks in HMDA data quality.
- Partner with the business and other internal stakeholders to perform annual targeted scrubs of the HMDA LAR and work with the PCB Business Control Director to file the RJ Bank HMDA LAR.
- Perform other monitoring and testing responsibilities and work independently to execute the annual PCB monitoring & testing plan in accordance with scheduled timeframes and due dates.
- Assist PCB management in reviewing and maintaining department policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Concepts, practices and procedures of internal control testing or internal quality assurance processes.
- Working knowledge of applicable banking regulations including but not limited to: Reg C, TRID, RESPA, TILA, CRA, FCRA, ECOA, etc.
- Consumer banking products and services including residential mortgage lending and asset based lending.
Skills in:
- Identifying, reviewing and implementing controls and quality assurance processes.
- Compiling information and preparing oral and written summaries and reports.
- Investigating process and procedure breakdowns to determine root cause.
- Analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and identifying solutions to complex problems.
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications including Microsoft Office.

- Gather information, identify linkages and trends and apply findings to assignments.
- Interpret and apply banking regulations and identify and recommend changes as appropriate.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year College or university and a minimum of zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience in a risk, control, or compliance in a financial services firm.
- Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
