Senior Finance Analyst (2 year fixed term)
APRA is seeking a highly motivated finance professional to join the Finance team, where you will support a significant technology & data transformation.
In this role you will be responsible for providing information, advice, and recommendations to a new program of work, working closely with project stakeholders in respect to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
This is a 2-year fixed term opportunity.
The team
The Finance & Procurement function forms part of the Chief of Staff & Enterprise Services Division. Finance & Procurement is responsible for the development and implementation of effective accounting, business planning, project management and procurement frameworks to deliver requisite services to APRA, which facilitate the achievement of APRA's corporate objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Working with the Program team to develop, implement, and manage program budgets and reporting structures.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Program and be the liaison to the Programs project managers / business areas to provide clear analysis and interpretation of the Program and projects financial results and support any necessary actions to ensure agreed financial outcomes are met.
- Monthly reporting, financial modelling, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, continuous process improvement and ad-hoc analysis as requested.
- Close support and engagement with the wider Finance and Enterprise Services division.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the Program contracts and grants, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and guidelines. Manage Program cash flow, ensuring funds are available for program activities.
- Conduct financial risk assessments for programs and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, ensuring accurate and compliant financial practices.
About you
- Strong understanding of project accounting concepts.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, organisational, presentation and comprehension skills.
- Extensive business partnering experience.
- Advanced problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Proven experience with financial model building, forecasting, ability to manage the development and tracking of financial budgets particularly in a project environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
