The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst for a 12-month contract role in Naperville, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting both internally and externally. In addition to this, you will be assigned special accounting projects as needed to increase capacity for other members of the team, help enhance and expand controls over financial reporting that will both reduce risk and increase efficiencies, and other ad hoc tasks. You will also manage and contribute to research on complex IFRS matters for financial statement reporting.
The Team
This role will report directly to the Director of Financial Reporting and work in close coordination with the corporate finance team, divisional finance directors and controllers, and IT.
Responsibilities
- Special projects as needed to help with capacity for all team members. It’s paramount this individual is collaborative with all members by helping with various asks and to provide timely input.
- Research accounting policies and IFRS standards and prepare position papers.
- Oversee the design and testing of financial reports using the Consolidation software to address Senior Leadership and Divisional operational/financial reporting needs. Ensure information held within the software is continuously up-to-date and address software issues.
- Manage consolidated reporting of the Company’s long-lived assets, specifically:
- Accounting for capital assets and intangible assets.
- Overseeing maintenance of the capital asset software data.
- Preparing consolidation reporting for capital assets and intangibles including financial statement disclosures.
- Preparing journal entries and divisional reports.
- Assist in preparing cash flows, operating budget/forecasts, and ad hoc financial reporting throughout the year to support the Finance team and ensure Company operational objectives are met.
- Assist with the quarterly and annual external reporting for AGI, including but not limited to the following activities:
- month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
- Assist in drafting financial statement and note disclosures for public reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of the Company’s annual report, Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and other regulatory reporting as required.
- Assist with preparing Audit Committee presentations.
- Prepare audit working papers and work with external auditors.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance and efficiencies in financial reporting and operations.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Attained or in process of attaining professional accounting designation (CPA).
- Enjoys being part of a strong and dynamic team.
- ERP experience in Oracle and Longview Consolidation Tool is an asset.
- Strong ability to improve processes and develop a robust framework to enable fast growth.
- Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

- Excellent attention to detail, good communication skills and a team player.
- Ability to plan, assign and evaluate job tasks.
