As a Financial Analyst, you will be involved in all facets of the deal, from initial conversations with the client to assisting in the closing process. This position will underwrite and investigate potential debt and equity opportunities for all property types (i.e. multifamily, office, industrial, self-storage, hotel, and retail). This position is part of a collaborative environment with mortgage bankers, real estate brokers, brokerage administrative assistants, and mortgage loan servicing and closing staff.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Real Estate is required, Master's degree is a plus.
- 1-2 years' experience in real estate, capital markets, or corporate finance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in a similar financial analyst role is preferred, especially experience with Life Insurance, Bank, Debt Fund, and Conduit loan executions.
- Experience with underwriting multiple property types for mortgage opportunities and/or acquisitions is a plus, especially with portfolio-level transactions.
- Experience working on refinance, acquisition, and construction loans.
- Ability to shift priorities and deliver projects on a timely basis.
- Well organized, results-oriented with excellent time management skills.
Bonus Skills And Experience
- Commercial real estate experience.
- Proficiency with ARGUS (DCF and Enterprise).
- Experience with Salesforce, CoStar, and Real Capital Analytics.
What Success Looks Like
- You excel in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to deliver results to the highest accuracy in terms of financial analysis.
- You will analyze/underwrite multifamily, office, industrial, self-storage, hotel, and retail financial reports and provide cash flow analyses in both Argus and Excel, as needed and on a timely basis.
- You will rent and sale comparables, evaluate appraisal documents, and build quote matrices to assist clients in comparing debt and equity opportunities.
- You will work with brokers, clients, lenders, attorneys, etc. to assist with the closing process by managing due diligence checklists, participating in closing calls, and assisting in ordering third-party reports (i.e., appraisal, property condition, and environmental reports, etc.).
- You will provide debt guidance for industrial, office, hotel, self-storage, retail, and multifamily investment/sales team pitches; participate on sales and underwriting calls with potential borrowers and manage lender/client correspondence in the event the broker is unavailable.
- You will provide market analysis for business development and assist brokers in ad-hoc tasks.
- You will compile a database of near-term loan maturities by using Trepp, CrediFi, CoStar, and similar databases to assist brokers source additional business.
