Job Overview
The Accounting and Finance Department is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to monitor the business activities of the organization through the maintenance and control of financial records. The Senior Accountant will also perform advanced accounting functions in the management of the organization’s business affairs.
Essential Functions
- Oversee daily processing and accounting functions; ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with university, local, state and federal requirements and standard accounting and audit procedures including compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Monitor and interpret key financial data in the development of cost analysis and reports.
- Develop, analyze, establish, and maintain accounting systems.
- Perform internal auditing of financial records and act as lead. Interface with internal and external auditors.
- Prepare integrated financial and statistical reports, statements and projections and recommendations presented to leadership.
- Recommend accounting and control systems.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree must be in Accounting or related field.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of accounting related work experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Intermediate user of Microsoft products.
