Senior Property Accountant
This exciting opportunity as a Senior Property Accountant offers you a chance to work at a renowned company dedicated to improving urban living spaces through advanced technology and innovative practices. The role involves close collaboration with a spectrum of property management professionals and stakeholders to ensure precision in financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in driving the financial accuracy of multiple properties, aiding in significant decision-making processes that align with the organization’s core mission of transforming and revitalizing urban communities.
Compensation: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly closing process under the guidance of the Director, including the preparation and review of journal entries.
- Perform regular reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure accuracy in financial documents.
- Handle the full spectrum of financial statement preparation for all managed properties.
- Support the Director in conducting analytical reviews of portfolio results alongside Property Managers, helping in the decision-making processes.
- Prepare detailed compliance and investor reporting documents, including management of debt and REO schedules.
- Facilitate property audits and manage documentation for tax return preparation.
- Collaborate with Property Managers and the Director in the creation and review of property budgets, providing financial insights.
- Assist in cash management for complex property portfolios and ensure adherence to financial policies.
- Work with Property Managers on tenant ledger reviews and adjustments to ensure tenant accounts are up to date.
- Engage in ad hoc projects that involve detailed analysis aimed at driving strategic decisions within the company.
- Provide leadership to the accounting team, inspiring performance that meets the highest standards of efficiency and accuracy.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the public accounting or real estate fields.

- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to handling challenges.

- Experience in real estate or related field.

- Advanced knowledge and experience with financial software systems like Yardi or equivalent.
- A history of successful team collaboration and a proven ability to work in diverse team environments.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with Yardi Software Systems or equivalent financial management software.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply them in both routine and complex financial tasks.
