Position Description:
Assist the Product Portfolio strategist in optimizing our organization's product line asset strategies within the asset liability management process. This position will assist in the analysis, execution, and performance management of derivatives. This exciting role will provide an opportunity to work cross-functionally interacting with areas including actuarial, product development, finance/accounting, etc.
Position Location:
This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Cincinnati, OH or Lincoln, NE) and partially from home.
What you do:
- Assist in the development and execution of strategies to optimize the financial performance and competitiveness of the product lines. The role will support the portfolio strategist in the periodic development and communication of strategic asset allocation (SAA).
- Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, then provide recommendations for risk mitigation and portfolio optimization.
- Assist in stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the impact of changing market conditions on the organization's asset and liability positions.
- Track investment activity to ensure product lines are kept in a funded status.
- Assist in the tactical asset allocation process.
- Collaborate with the investment team and internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies that align with organization's goals.
- Assist in the analysis and performance management of derivatives. Serve as a backup on execution.
- Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and industry developments to identify potential investment opportunities and risks.
- Participate in Portfolio Management Team meetings representing investments in the ALM process.
- Prepare investment reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor’s degree will be needed to secure CFA Charter (see last bullet).
- 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
- Experience with asset liability management or asset management is desired but not required.
- Experience with (or study of) actuarial science is desired but not required.
- Experience with fixed income investments is desired but not required.
- Progress towards CFA Charter desired. Must be willing to pursue CFA Charter in the future. Please note, completion of CFA Charter does require a bachelor’s degree.
