Your Responsibilities
The Alternative Risk Solutions Analyst is responsible for preparation of financial analysis to support risk financing decisions. The role requires the analyst to develop, prepare and present reports for clients, prospective clients and internal Lockton teams. The Analyst will work within the Alternative Risk Solutions Practice.
Job Duties:
- Become knowledgeable about commercial insurance programs and the collateral requirements of those programs.
- Become knowledgeable about risk finance structures including captive insurance structures and other alternative risk programs.
- Become knowledgeable about actuarial analysis and actuarial methods and be able to read, understand and explain the analysis.
- Become knowledgeable and develop constructive relationships with key individuals in the insurance industry, e.g. alternative risk, primary casualty, credit, captive insurance, and accounting and tax specialists.
- Compile data from appropriate sources and review for logic and reasonableness.
- Prepare, review and deliver captive feasibility studies and other risk financing ad-hoc modeling.
- Command of Microsoft Excel with ability to customize models and apply financial and accounting principles.
- Prepare diagrams, reports and presentations to outline key analysis conclusions.
- Effectively communicate financial and accounting topics and analysis with a wide variety of audiences.
- Autonomous identification of key tasks for a project without a formulaic model or plan.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA or Masters in Accounting; or equivalent education and experience with successful academic performance.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while reviewing needs for future projects.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word).
- Strong technical financial and accounting knowledge.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to quickly understand the business model of various companies.
- Strong written and oral communication ability.
- Works effectively individually and in a team-oriented group setting.
- Assumes ownership of individual projects and develops potential solutions with little supervision.
