The Tax Senior works closely with other CDH staff and client personnel on all phases of assigned projects and engagement management for multiple clients. The Tax Senior is primarily responsible for preparation and review of complex tax returns, including individual, trust, partnership, not-for-profit, S corporate, C corporate, and foreign tax returns. The Tax Senior is also responsible for the professional development and supervision of assigned tax staff and assisting in all client management and practice development activities during the engagement.
Professional Responsibilities
- Prepares and reviews a variety of tax returns
- Assists in tax planning projects
- Takes ownership of tax related projects and serves as the primary source of assistance for tax staff and interns
- Reviews team members’ work and provides feedback when necessary to ensure documentation is prepared properly for manager approval
- Delegates and leverages work and tasks appropriately; explains purpose and goal of tasks to staff, manages staff and client expectations and ensures timely completion of assigned projects
- Provides training, feedback and developmental opportunities for staff and interns
- Assists in analyzing the tax costs and benefits for a proposed business
- Participates in transfer pricing activities and other specialized projects
- Researches technical issues using regulatory and source materials utilizing electronic databases on issues that arise in tax planning and compliance process. Shares results with team members and may serve as an expert in one or more areas of the process
- Prepares and reviews the initial drafts of tax notices and letters
- Ensures tax returns are prepared in accordance with the terms of the various governing documents and applicable federal tax and state law
- Uses Firm’s software to automate the data transfer process from the trial balance to the financial statements and eventually for the preparation of the tax return

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
- Current CPA license preferred
- 3-5 years of related tax experience
- Bilingual - Japanese a plus
