Your opportunity
You will provide investment recommendations and industry insight in the Financials sector. You will conduct deep fundamental analysis of companies, sovereigns and/or securitized issuers/issues, as applicable. The successful candidate will successfully prioritize the determination of long-term value and risks for their covered issuers/securities, seeking securities that are likely to outperform industry peers over many years.
You will:
- Conduct research independently to formulate investment recommendations on individual securities within the financials sector. Careful consideration should be given to forecasted growth, competitive positioning, capital ratios, quality of assets, financial reporting and management, and on-going regulatory impact assessment.
- Construct models to generate pertinent questions that need to be answered in the research process, determine critical drivers and forecast future revenue, earnings,cash flows and capital ratios.
- Assess the market supply dynamics within the financials sector, and extrapolate impact to sector valuations based on views
- Provide a selection of the best risk adjusted total return global securities, with a focus on downside protection
- Undertake research visits/meetings to formulate and extend deep industry expertise, including contact with competitors, customers, suppliers, regulators and other relevant constituents.
- Compile and communicate research findings with Portfolio Managers through verbal communication, written notes, reports, and presentations with the ability to communicate quickly and thoroughly, with the ability to adjust style pending time sensitivity of each situation
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Must have skills
- At least 7 years of experience covering U.S. Corporate Financials Sector
- Strong security picking skills, with a proven track record of adding value
- Deep understanding of Fixed Income markets, corporate finance and accounting
- Strong modeling skills required. Proficient in building and maintaining financial models to forecast future revenue, earnings, cash flows and capital ratios
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally
- Ability to work independently as well as function effectively as part of a team
Nice to have skills
- Buy side experience preferred
- Post-graduate degree such as MBA, and CFA and/or CPA helpful
- LLM, AI and programing skills, a plus
Investment areas
- Has responsibility for supporting portfolios that are covered by the Fixed Income research team.

Compensation information
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $220,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This role will be posted through November 3, 2024.
Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
