Job Description: This position reports to the Controller and functions as a business partner with plant management, production control, procurement, engineering, and related manufacturing activities. The position will be located at our facility in Watertown, CT.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and maintain the development of standard costs and bill of materials for manufactured products using systematic tools and available data.
- Provide weekly and monthly metrics around manufacturing variances, PPV, tariff, production variances, material usages and other related measures to facilitate month end reporting.
- Support plant management in review of metrics and development of root cause and countermeasures for areas that are unfavorable versus budget.
- Weekly management of cycle counts for all distribution centers per company policy
- Reconciling inventory perpetual to general ledger and reserve analysis
- Consignment inventory management and reconciliation
- Perform various month end closing activities including account analysis, preparation of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial analysis and reporting relating to the Company's operations and manufacturing performance.
- Continuous improvement in processes and controls of inventory management
- Assist in the evaluation and improvement of internal controls and ensuring compliance with GAAP for the financial reporting process.
- Assist operations in solving inventory issues as they arise.
- Support the annual operating plan development processes, as well as annual financial audit.
- Additional ad hoc analysis or projects as requested.
Technical Qualifications
- B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration
- 3-5 years of hands-on manufacturing accounting and financial reporting experience
- High level of proficiency in Excel spreadsheets, MS Office, and ERP systems required.
- Proficient knowledge of US-GAAP desired, CPA nice to have but not required.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required.
