Coverage Areas: Detroit, MI
Role & Responsibilities:
- Train, educate, and support combined CT/Heart Failure programs on the proper use of the Impella 5.5 with SmartAssist.
- Full customer immersion within 5.5 sites to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide support in conjunction with the Medical Office and Engineering team to support EFS/PMA efforts and commercialization of the BTR pump and future technologies.
- Device expertise and support on Impella 5.0/LD to assist with the adoption of the full portfolio.
- Clinical and technical expertise and support of Breethe Oxy-1 to assist with device integration.
- Participate in launch, training, and education of combined Surgical/Heart Failure programs.
- Internal collaboration with various teams including Commercial, Training, Engineering, Marketing, and Clinical.
- Maintain contact with customers to evaluate clinical and educational needs.
- Provide advanced acumen on the durable, acute, and hemodynamic medical device landscape.
- Cultivate relationships with strategic business partners and key opinion leaders.
- Provide input to management on situations affecting clinical results and sales.
- Call points include Cardiac Surgeons, Heart Failure Cardiologists, and OR teams.
- Staff major conferences and local heart failure and surgical symposiums.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Surgical Physician’s Assistant (PA), or Perfusionist licensure.
- 5+ years of direct experience in Cardiac Surgery/Perfusion preferred.
- Direct patient management experience in a cardiothoracic ICU or CVOR required.
- Confidence and familiarity with cardiac surgery and OR protocol required.
- Willingness to travel/cover multiple geographies required; previous experience desired.
- Up to 50%-75% overnight travel may be required depending on territory.
- Previous experience with Abiomed and/or other cardiac medical devices highly desired.
- Ability to drive patient outcomes required.
- Conduct duties in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry.
- A valid driver's license issued in the United States is required.
