Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst prepares and analyzes short and long-projection forecasts, cash flow, and other operational performance metrics for the Office of the President. Monitor and evaluate monthly results to ensure spend is in line with committed plans. Investigate and report on financial activity (i.e. variances, department spend, etc.) related to assigned budgets. Advise and provide transactional support to department leads on issues related to budget and other financial matters. Analyze, prepare, develop, and maintain reports, budget, and financial planning systems, models, and key processes. Ensure all financial activities are in accordance with the documented fiscal policies of the University.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Required Experience:
5+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience - must have experience with budget administration and complex financial analysis.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years prior work experience in a financial organization.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills and logical approaches to problem-solving. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to multi-task and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Good judgement and a desire and ability to take initiative while successfully contributing to a collegial group environment. Fluency with key business and financial concepts and tools (e.g. budgets, operating expenses, capital expenses, financial statements, financial reporting, Microsoft Excel and other Office products, financial software suites).
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00 to USD $115,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
