Schneider Downs is seeking an Accounting Advisory Director to join our rapidly growing Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) practice that offers a variety of technical accounting advisory services, as well as outsourced accounting and finance advisory services, for every type of organization from small businesses that have limited resources, to large publicly-traded and privately-held companies who need technical and short-term financial expertise. AAS clients engage with us to help solve complex accounting and finance challenges where no two projects will be the same.
What You’ll Do
- Consult and advise clients on complex accounting and finance issues which may include, but are not limited to, technical accounting issues, financial reporting, operational accounting, buy-side or sell-side accounting assistance and post-merger integration.
- Perform temporary outsourced CFO/Controller services as needed.
- Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients and revenue for the firm.
- Provide thought leadership by developing content, conducting webinars and public speaking on relevant topics.
- Develop and lead teams to respond to our clients’ unique needs and expectations.
- Manage the client engagement including work plans, staffing, deadlines and budgets throughout the duration of the project, including strategy, goal setting, deliverables and maintaining an integrated project plan; ensure client profitability targets are met.
- Build relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless integrated services.
- Coach, motivate and develop team members, by providing feedback, mentoring and career development opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related technical discipline is required.
- Minimum of 10 years in public accounting; preferably working within either an accounting advisory or external audit function.
- CPA, PMP, CMA, CGMA or CAAS licensure is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of consultants and analysts, managing projects and delivering excellent client service while building relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Proven track record of success in business development and building a profitable practice.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to assist in the growth of the practice.
