We are currently seeking a (Remote) Full-Time – Business Analyst:
This position can work from any location in the United States. You must be able to work in Eastern Standard Time.
What You Need To Know
Serve as a relationship manager and technical consultant to a set of business areas. Work to understand business practices, elicit and document business requirements, ensure that information technology meets the requirement of end users and provides the intended business value. Actively participate in all phases of the solution lifecycle, and work closely with a variety of internal and external business and technology partners. Provide training and guidance to other staff. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and understand business processes and how technology can best ensure the success of business users. Document, analyze, and clarify business requirements and translate into technology artifacts from which technology solutions are developed ensuring adherence to system architecture and software compliance standards. Define new and enhanced business processes.
- Investigate operations-related problems/inquiries and recommend, facilitate and coordinate solutions.
- Present client business cases to appropriate IT forums for approval and to initiate the project process.
- Partner with clients to develop a strategic plan to implement the technology vision. Work closely with clients to analyze the current and future direction of technology to meet business goals. Educate clients about the software and project lifecycles and the business roles. Develop project/portfolio performance metrics to monitor business value over time.
- Participate in all phases of the solution lifecycle and work closely with a variety of internal and external business and technology partners to implement the project. Formulate project functional testing strategies and plans, participate in testing to ensure a technical solution meets the requirements of the business.
- Facilitate problem resolution between IT and the business, as needed. Represent, champion and balance client interests with IT.
- Provide training and guidance to other staff. May maintain system updates, modifications, and configurations.
What You Need To Succeed
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Management Experience: 5 years of management experience.
- Significant project management experience in resuscitation, aquatics or related programs for medical publishing companies or health and safety training organizations, including the non-profit sector.
- Direct experience launching new products required.
- Demonstrate proficiency and experience in managing the creation of high-quality print and digital products.
- Experience in vendor management.
- Ability to work with internal business owners as well as external agencies.
- Ability to simultaneously manage several projects and motivate teams under tight deadlines.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing financial models to understand the drivers of the business.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration required.
- Basic computer skills, proficiency in MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Travel: Ability to travel 30-50%.
Essential Functions/Physical Requirements
Must be good verbal and written communicator. Must have very good home-based internet connectivity. Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
