The position is responsible for providing analysis of standard costs, Bill of Materials, inventory, material, labor & overhead variances, scrap, etc., and developing/enhancing reports that serve to increase manufacturing efficiency and inventory turns.
Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)
- Analyze material usage, purchase price, labor & overhead variances monthly. Work closely with Operations personnel to analyze variances and formulate corrective actions.
- Work closely with Operations personnel to analyze actual vs. standard manufacturing costs.
- Perform periodic analysis of excess & obsolete inventory. Work with Sales & Operations personnel to execute the disposition of E&O inventory.
- Assist with periodic standard cost changes and inventory revaluations.
- Compile inventory and cost data for preparation of operating budgets and forecasts.
- Participate in and report results of annual physical inventory.
- Perform analytics and provide reporting around company 80-20 activities.
- Provide audit support for physical inventories and periodic cycle counts.
- Participate in monthly closing process with analysis and creation of manual journal entries.
- Participate and/or initiate projects to improve costs, efficiencies, and transactional integrity in the company.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analyses, assist with research on cost accounting questions, and assist with special projects as requested. Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education / Experience:
- Degree: Bachelor's Degree
- Major: Accounting and/or Finance
- Years of Experience: 4+ Years
- Area: Cost Accounting, preferably in a discrete manufacturing environment

- Technical Skills: MS Office, Any ERP, Syteline Preferred but not necessary. The employee is required to collaborate regularly with Operations and Supply Chain personnel to review new and existing products and processes. Familiarity with products, capabilities of production machinery, shop floor layout, and cost drivers is also critical for the development/improvement of BOM's and routings and support of the annual physical inventory and periodic inventory cycle counting processes.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, fax, and copier. Must be able to see, hear, verbally communicate, and perform data entry.
