The Grocery Finance organization is dedicated to help shape the long-term strategy and future of grocery, omni-channel and new physical store formats across Amazon.
The Role
As a Finance Analyst on the Grocery Finance team, you will support the Amazon Fresh marketing team that is tasked with building brand awareness, customer acquisition, engagement and loyalty. You will partner with marketing managers and creative directors to understand our customers in-depth, outline the key levers that help grow the customer base, and provide thoughtful analyses that help in investment decisions with high ROI. The data-based tools and process simplification you develop will directly impact the quality of decisions in marketing investment which in turn will help in making Amazon Fresh the earth's most customer-centric grocery business! You will provide strategic decision support and financial controllership necessary to drive profitable growth of both our brick-and-mortar stores as well as our online grocery delivery business.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Partner with the Amazon Fresh marketing team and provide thoughtful and scalable decision-support tools and analytical frameworks to evaluate and implement marketing investments targeted as acquiring, engaging and retaining grocery customers.
- Oversee financial planning, performance reporting, metrics creation, investment decisions, and storytelling surrounding our customers, topline growth, and marketing investments.
- Use financial systems, advanced MS Excel functions, and SQL/databases to work with large data sets.
- Drive accountability across the Marketing team through weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews.
- Work with a variety of data sources. Identify incomplete or inaccurate data, root causes of data issues, escalate discrepancies, fix data where possible or partner with data owners to deliver a solution.
- Identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes.
- Make thoughtful time management decisions independently. Prioritize work, resolve issues, meet deadlines, and seek feedback from your manager. Discern between urgent and non-urgent issues and act accordingly to solve them.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
