Overview: Oversees all marina operations including staffing, aesthetics of facility, long term slip agreements, water sports rentals, fuel dock and shop merchandise sales for leisure guests and members. Reports to the Vice President of Property Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manages marina shop operations, communications and administrative work ensuring operation runs efficiently
- Opens the facility at the beginning of the season ensuring it is neat, clean and ready for guests and members and closes the facility winterizing and storing rental equipment
- Oversees opening, mid-day and closing procedures are followed during the season
- Oversees daily facility upkeep during the season ensuring Marina area cleanliness is maintained both inside and outside
- Performs fuel sales for watercrafts following safe fueling procedures required in Virginia
- Hires, schedules and trains seasonal Watersports Attendant staff following company processes
- Ensures rental equipment is in working order and facility safety rules are followed
- Maintains department budget overseeing labor costs for the department stay within budgeted dollars
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School or GED required, college preferred
- Must have extensive knowledge of local water ways
- 5 years’ boating experience with a wide array of boating crafts required
- Must possess VA boater’s license
- Must have mechanical knowledge
- Must know proper techniques for securing boats to dock
- Must have knowledge of safe fueling procedures for boats
- Must be familiar with current boating safety laws
- Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written
- Must have 4 years proven supervisory experience
- Possess basic computer skills
