Job Title: Manager, Clearance, Visual Media Licensing
A little bit about our team:
The Visual Media Licensing department represents the recorded music rights and offers clients a comprehensive sync licensing service. They work to serve WMG’s extensive catalog and the company's frontline recorded music labels by strategically developing new opportunities in film, TV, advertising, video games, and new media.
Your role:
The Manager of Clearance will be responsible for fielding and negotiating requests from sync clients for music uses in all areas of sync! Knowledge of the Warner Music Group catalog and front-line releases from the respective labels is imperative.
Here you’ll get to:
- Coordinate and confer with the company's internal departments as well as outside parties (including, but not limited to, co-publishers, copyright owners, composers, managers, and/or attorneys) regarding clearance, ownership, and financial procedures and fees.
- Manage and run point on handling both telephone and correspondence from parties requesting fee quotations and license requests for use of company products contained in the catalog.
- Perform research duties to confirm the company's right to songs, clear copyright provisions and songs, and potentially acquire permission for usage.
- Negotiate fees with requesting parties as directed.
- Coordinate individual principals in relation to legalities, fee structures, income and general operations related to video games or other programs.
- Maintain records such as logs, files, and deals.
- Review licenses within own specific area.
- Make suggestions for use of alternate songs in the company's catalog when clearances are not available for the original request.
- Attend meetings and conferences both within and outside the company relative to the department's operation.
- Handle and safeguard confidential and proprietary information.
About you:

- A baccalaureate degree with a major in music, business preferred, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three years of relevant sync clearance, quoting, negotiating experience.
- Experience with Google Workspace.

Effective October 1st, this position will require being in the office 4 days a week. We believe that an in-office presence is critical for talent development, collaboration and building strong relationships.
Salary Range: $67,600 to $75,000 Annually
Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law.The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
