Global Partner Operations & Amex Assurance Company provides best-in-class specialty servicing. Specialty servicing includes insurance servicing, non-card servicing, and value generation marketing activities. As process owners, the team leads the end-to-end customer experience at both our third parties as well as our proprietary teams. Additionally, the team is responsible for the management and regulatory aspects of Amex’s wholly owned subsidiary, Amex Assurance Company.
Our team is searching for a Business Analyst who will report to the Director of Underwriting and Regulatory Affairs within AMEX Assurance Company. Critical to the role is intellectual curiosity, a proactive nature, attention to detail, comfort with data & financials, and strong work ethic. The Business analyst will work within a team that supports business requirements via accurate reporting delivery and ad hoc analytical requests. To do this successfully, the analyst will need to build a deep understanding of the business model and programs, have excellent analytical skills and good relationships at all levels.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Provide key analytics and deliver timely data-driven recommendations to the AAC Underwriting and Regulatory Affairs leadership team regarding key metric performance: Providing data analysis support to existing and new product initiatives to increase revenue while understanding broader business impacts.
- Understand data that drives KPI’s inside and out and monitor them against goals regularly; identify changes, outliers and trends quickly, as well as underlying causes. Develop leading indicators to get ahead of metrics where possible.
- Work with the Director to align organizational priorities, drive cross-functional strategic initiatives, and ensure delivery against goals. This varies from setting the agenda to driving flawless execution of various projects.
- Provide relevant reporting and readouts on an ad hoc or scheduled basis.
- Understanding the relevant practices, modeling, and initiatives that drive outcomes within AXP’s day-to-day risk management apparatus, particularly for Underwriting functions.
- Enable leaders to make informed decisions and drive performance within their teams by providing the right insights at the right time.
- Develop reporting and presentation materials for executive-level audiences. This could include AAC, GPOS, the Board of Directors or GSG Leadership, and more.
- Other planning duties as required: for example, calendar or meeting planning and management (staff meeting, department huddles, town hall preparation), general department logistics and administrative coordination.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to think strategically and analytically with ability to translate analysis into actionable business strategies.
- Flexible, high energy team player with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to lead multiple projects and work within timelines.
- Desire to work on ambiguous projects, crafting clarity while driving successful and meaningful outcomes.
- Strong skills in data management, analysis, and deriving actionable insights.
- Highly proficient in Excel with excellent skills in the other Microsoft Suite tools (PowerPoint, Word, OneDrive).
- Experience with data and/or performance management tools, for example: Tableau, SQL, Qualtrics, NPM, CMS, etc.
- Outstanding communication skills – clear, logical, and succinct.
- Impeccable integrity required for handling confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cornerstone/Lumi/BigQuery/Hive experience preferred.
- Comfortable with large data sets and data manipulation.
- Demonstrated track record of integrity, innovation, and excellence.
- Self-confident with the ability and willingness to challenge and be challenged.
- Superior attention to detail and organization skills.
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits.
