Responsible for performing varied accounting activities which include review of the daily sales report, general ledger activity, forecasting, margin/sales reporting and analysis of book to perpetual inventory, core accounting as well as inbound/outbound freight. This position will supervise a staff member of one. Additionally, this position performs and/or assists with internal control reviews and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation. This position will report to the Cost Accounting Manager.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Manage and analyze inventory and inbound/outbound freight accounts. This includes monthly forecasting, month-end analysis and variance reporting.
- Provide support and perform analysis work on dealer incentives.
- Prepare assigned monthly journal entries on a timely basis and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Prepare corresponding account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Supervise and develop one direct report. Review reports, journals entries, reconciliations and adhoc reports prepared by direct report.
- Effectively interact with other departments on projects or issues that arise, including but not limited to: credit and returns, materials, volume sales, customer service, pricing and the EZTrac group.
- Develop and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Perform and/or assist with assigned statistical inventories and Parts Distribution Center audits.
- Understand the relationship of operational and financial systems and develops reports in SAP, Excel, Access and SQL.
- Perform SOX testing as assigned.
- Support internal control reviews and external audit requests.
- Perform other duties and accounting functions as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS / BA in Accounting or Finance
- Master's Degree or CPA preferred
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility
- Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail with a “big picture” focus
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects
- Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and self-motivated
- Understanding of US GAAP
- SAP experience preferred
- Requires strong PC skills with Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
- Must be able to travel periodically within the US and internationally
Salary Range
At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for this position is $75,100 - $103,730 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
