About the Role
HomeSafe Alliance is seeking highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to assist the Accountant Manager in all aspects of General Accounting, Payroll and Employee Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting and Accounts Payable.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper recording of Journal entries in assigned area of responsibility.
- Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring timely, adequate, and complete reconciliations with adequate explanations for any variances that may exist.
- Responsible for daily cost accounting review of move task orders for accuracy within the general ledger.
- Assist with the monthly close process preparing or approving month-end journal entries and participate in resolving potential issues and communicating any possible close related delays.
- Provide monthly/quarterly reports and analysis to internal & external auditors and respond regarding periodic information requests.
- Maintain adequate documentation in support of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and assessments.
- Work to identify technology, excel shortcuts, and other potential enhancements to enable best practices in financial processes and procedures across the BU.
- Ensure compliance of HomeSafe accounting policies, business practices.
- Assist Transaction Services department with transaction recording.
- Perform various ad-hoc analyses and other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 5+ years general ledger accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS and DCAA regulations.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Self-starter/proactive, expected to take initiative to research issues and provide solutions.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Leadership capability and excellent communication, presentation, verbal and written skills.
- Must have the ability to work well with others (both within the team and cross-functionally).
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Costpoint and EPM preferred.
