Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Comptroller to oversee and manage all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables functions for our privately held company with multiple entities. This leadership role will be responsible for ensuring full compliance across the organization, managing the Accounting and Purchase Order processes, addressing vendor issues, and ensuring that company policies align with the latest Accounting laws and regulations. The Comptroller will work closely with management to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring that the operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop budgets and financial forecasts to help the organization plan for the future. Should keep track of AR and AP.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and safeguard the organization's assets.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improved financial performance.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring that they are effectively carrying out their day-to-day purchases. Establish a process for POs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information to internal stakeholders, such as senior management and department heads, as well as external stakeholders like auditors and investors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive Comptroller/Accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting/Tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience working in multi-entity environments and managing diverse teams.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- CPA is a plus.
