CORT Events is hiring a full-time Accounting Manager to join our team in Las Vegas, NV!
CORT Events caters to trade show contractors and event professionals, providing them with rental furniture and decor for various types of events such as industry-specific trade shows, corporate meetings, conferences, and gatherings. We offer a wide range of products including seating, tables, outdoor furniture, lighting, and accessories, as well as design and planning services.
The Accounting Manager is a key business lead that oversees the daily activities of accounting and financial transaction processing personnel. This position is responsible for the accuracy of all financial data and leads CORT Events’ monthly close procedures. This position also interprets financial data and provides analysis and recommendations for improvements to senior management.

Responsibilities:
- Leads monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close procedures. This includes review of accruals, journal entries, commissions and rebate calculations, bad debt analysis, and financial results trend analysis as well as comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts to ensure accountability.
- Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, accounting, and cash.
- Leads and oversees the contributions of five accounting and billing team members. Serves as a mentor to develop team’s skills and business acumen.
- Gathers insights from various business leaders to summarize and communicate what caused differences from budgets and forecasts and works with Finance Lead to develop strategies to remedy gaps.
- Performs ad hoc financial analysis to support business strategy decisions including forecasting project costs, ROI, IRR, ROA, and assumed cash flow.
- Participates in commercial activities including reviewing and negotiating contracts and decisioning extension of credit to clients.
- Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable aging, key account reconciliations, depreciation schedules, asset landed cost information, and operating expenses.
- Calculates commissions and rebates for internal and external payments.
- Coordinates preparation of documentation to support internal and external audit requests and financial reporting to corporate and holding company stakeholders.
- Helps team members outside finance to understand and navigate accounting and finance policies and internal controls to deliver amazing results to our clients.
- Remains flexible to help with other duties and teams as needs are identified.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of four years of related experience in multi-location general ledger accounting, financial statement audit, corporate or commercial finance, accounts payable, or accounts receivable.
- Minimum of two years of previous experience as a people manager or team lead.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Skills:
- Certified Public Accountant
- Prior experience or interest in commercial finance and budget management.
- Peoplesoft General Ledger
- SalesForce.com including authoring queries.
- Adaptive Planning
