Position Summary:
The Lending Optimization Analyst will have the opportunity to use strong research, analytical, and communication talents as well as system aptitude to manage lending related systems, research and complete project deliverables, and provide department reporting and complex statistical analysis. This role will be responsible for supporting the research and vetting industry solutions that eliminate friction, increase speed to market and improve efficiencies for members and internal Team Members.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintain and ensure optimal use for systems and activities such as system conversions, testing, and setup including Consumer and Mortgage Loan Origination Systems, Collection and Loan Servicing Platforms, Core Systems and ancillary systems used by the Lending Division.
- Read release notes to determine the applicable items impacting our line of business, develop test scripts, and evaluate test results for accuracy and possible impact to the business. Resolve negative impact to the business prior to production implementation and reporting issues to management.
- Act as a liaison to business partners including IT, PMO, Accounting, Marketing, Retail, etc. for new Lending Division initiatives and process improvements initiated by the Lending Division.
- Analyzes current business practices, identifies areas for improvement and communicate recommendations to leadership for implementation.
- Analyze data to optimize performance, meet and exceed KPIs, identify areas of improvement to increase revenue including increasing auto decisioning, decrease delinquency, speed to market, increase profitability, decrease decision to close times, decrease application abandonment rates, etc.
- Staying abreast of new lending compliance and regulations for system maintenance application including TIL, TRID, MLA, HMDA, ECOA, FDCPA, etc.
- Create and maintain pre-approval campaign input files, deliver files to data exchange gateways, validate suppression file data, validate marketing messages for FCRA compliance and complete performance tracking and reporting for campaign measurement as it relates to the profitable acquisition of prospective members.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of AI/ML tools to increase efficiency and drive performance. Perform Team Member observation to look for opportunities for optimization, make recommendations to management, work with vendors and internal partners for implementation, create documentation for Team Member use and monitor automation uptime and exception reports required for the automations.
- Assist with all lending projects and initiatives and works closely with project management team to ensure that the lending team is meeting deadlines, and all interested parties are informed of system and process changes. Attend project meetings and update the project management tool to ensure the correct project states, sponsors, dates and strategic priorities, etc. are maintained in the system.
- Research new vendors and competitors per management requests. New vendor products and services should be thoroughly reviewed, and relationships should be built and maintained. Competitors in the market should be reviewed for rate comparison, product offerings, barriers in the market, etc.
- Maintain lending optimization logs and spreadsheets for changes, outages, daily operations and vendor support.
- Maintain lending optimization procedures and review internal and member facing documentation to proactively find inaccurate and outdated information including intranet, Wellby website, department procedures, etc.
- Update and maintain deliverables for Business Continuity Planning for the lending division. Ensure BCP system is updated to prevent and recover from potential threats and ensure we are protected and can function quickly in the event of a disaster. Maintain a comprehensive list of tasks required to keep operations going, roles and responsibilities, contact information for all team members and vendors, procedures for protocols, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
- Knowledge of Wellby’s organizational functions, and general operating policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and punctuation.
- Knowledge of personal computer, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and adding machines.
- Ability to interpret regulations affecting the Credit Union.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Ability to work effectively across organizational departments and functions to achieve strategic goals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

- Courses of action are determined by established procedures and/or the Vice President Lending Optimization.
- The team member’s work is reviewed periodically for accuracy, completion, and compliance with the policies and procedures.
- The team member uses independent judgment in making decisions.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds across the office and load them onto shelves for various needs.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Work involves the typical risks and discomforts associated with an office environment but is usually in an area that is adequately cooled, heated, lighted, and ventilated.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required.
- Minimum five (5) years of directly related experience.
- Experience with Microsoft office suite products.
- Experience with lending compliance and regulations.
- Strong communication, problem solving, work standards, administrative and analytical skills required.
- Bondable.
