Position Summary
The Payment Processing Analyst plays a crucial role in providing accurate and timely processing of payments, exceptions, and returns through the Credit Union’s suite of payment platforms while ensuring compliance with federal regulation mandates. The analyst will collaborate closely with internal teams to help mitigate fraud and share knowledge that may be used to make sound business decisions to protect the Credit Union and its members against monetary loss.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

- Daily processing of the Credit Union’s suite of payment products, ACH, wire transfers, share drafts, and mobile payment solutions.
- Perform wire related activities, including preparing and/or approving wires, handling service messages, wire returns, and maintaining various wire logs.
- Ensure processing deadlines are met, goals are accomplished, and align with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with research and adjustment duties such as corrections and duplicate items as required.
- Research and resolve wire errors, wire rejects, audit exceptions, audit requests and accounting reconciliation questions.
- Cross-collaboration with internal teams to address member requests.
- Take appropriate action to report suspected fraudulent transactions on the Credit Union’s suite of payment products.
- May act as project SME across a variety of departmental projects.
- Comply with all Credit Union policies, audit standards, regulatory mandates, and all required compliance training.
- Supports the ongoing operations of all Payment Processing activities including but not limited to: ACH, share drafts, Mobile Deposits, pay by phone.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
- Knowledge of Wellby’s organizational functions and general operating policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and punctuation.
- Knowledge of personal computer, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
- Knowledge of the Payments Industry including mobile payment systems, ACH, and Federal Reserve.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulations around ACH/NACHA, Checks/NCPC, etc.
- Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and adding machines.
- Ability to define, measure and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Ability to leverage data to gain insights and creatively solve business problems.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Ability to efficiently understand and follow oral and written instructions, perform routine duties without close supervision, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members.
- Ability to coordinate several concurrent activities simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The team member does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

- To perform this job successfully, the team member is frequently required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds across the office and load them onto shelves for various needs.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Work involves the typical risks and discomforts associated with an office environment but is usually in an adequately cooled, heated, lighted, and ventilated area.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years of member service, back-office processing experience or a combination of those, preferably in a financial institution.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
