Responsible for Accounts Receivable, Grants Management, Budgeting and maintenance of General Ledger.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and monitor accounts receivable.
- Process customer payments, including cash, checks, and credit card payments.
- Reconcile all bank statements on a monthly basis.
- Verify and post payments to the accounts receivable ledger.
- Ensure that all payments are properly posted.
- Reconcile balance sheet related general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger.
- Prepare monthly invoices/billing statements.
- Track and manage grant funding.
- Prepare grant reports, including budget-versus-actual reports, financial statements, and audit reports.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve account discrepancies.
- Assist with annual audit.
- Cross train on payroll related duties.
- Assist with the development of the annual budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Demonstrated skills in accounts receivable, grants accounting, budgeting and general accounting.
- Word processing and electronic spreadsheet capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively and respectfully with a broad range of people from diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Maintains confidentiality with respect to personnel and proprietary agency information.
- Ability to meet deadlines, well organized, and able to work under pressure of multiple deadlines; demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
- Acts as a role model within and outside of the agency.
- Adheres to agency policies and procedures.
- Computer literacy/proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Explorer, and Outlook; MIP and other specialized applications as necessary.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting preferred.
- Zero to Three years’ experience in accounting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
