Position Overview

The M&A Accounting Operations team supports company-wide strategic initiatives such as those revolving around our business model transformation, mergers and acquisitions and digital financial transformation. The M&A Accounting Operations Manager will support the M&A Accounting Operations Director for revenue accounting in all mergers and acquisitions and will be instrumental in financial quote to collect integration of acquired companies. This is your opportunity to support Autodesk revenue growth via new acquisition and bring new products to market. In this role you will be responsible for revenue management of unintegrated entities and partner with stakeholders across a variety of finance, operations and IT organizations to solve critical finance and business objectives on a variety of dynamic projects.
Responsibilities
- Partner with finance, operations, IT and business functional leads to drive mergers and acquisitions from initial term sheet through diligence, close, valuation, financial reporting and until full product and financial integration.
- Manage through others and influence cross-functional team members to achieve project goals.
- Analyze fit/gap of acquired company finance processes, controls, policies and procedures as compared to Autodesk standards and provide guidance to integration team on necessary changes.
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels.
- Analyze revenue recognition implications of acquisitions and new business models and provide guidance to the business.
- Design and implement effective, efficient and automated integrations of new acquisitions, product offerings and business models into the Autodesk ecosystem.
- Manage team responsible for preparation of financial analysis, journal entries and reconciliation of revenue, deferred revenue and accounts receivable related accounts.
- Manage team responsible for the preparation of periodic reports to support internal and external reporting requirements.
- Manage team responsible for the implementation and documentation of processes, controls, procedures and policies as required to maintain SOX compliance.
- Preparation/review of technical accounting memos (specifically, detailing the application of ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers and ASC 805-Business Combinations).
Minimum Qualifications
- CPA license.
- Experience with supervising monthly and quarterly close activities, account reconciliations, problem resolution, audit schedule preparation and working with external and internal auditors.
- Experience performing/reviewing contract analysis under ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Rev Pro etc.).
- 7+ years relevant work experience, preferably a mix of public accounting and private industry.
- Knowledge of a broad range of revenue (ASC 606) and accounting concepts. Ability to discuss these topics with non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to manage a team of professionals, juggle multiple tasks, establish appropriate priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to proactively organize and plan project activities and dependencies to achieve success.
- Confidence, good judgment, adaptability and personality to work in a dynamic, multi-business unit environment across all levels of management, business functions and geographies.
- Desire for continuous learning and growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of quote-to-collect processes and go-to-market initiatives.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions or business model integration.
- Knowledge of ASC 805-Business Combinations.

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $107,100 and $173,250. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
