Summary:
A fast-growing development and construction company is seeking an energetic, creative individual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to join our team. The ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks is a necessity. This position is a full-time role managing various accounting and bookkeeping tasks and other support assistance as directed. Candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years of office, accounting, and bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction industry. This is a challenging position that involves a variety of responsibilities and requires strong organizational and management skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ability to maintain accounting functionality/organized system.
• Maintain and manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable per project on a daily basis.
• Collection, analysis, organization, and preparation of monthly draw submissions to the bank by closely working with our Project Executives and Project Managers on current projects for submission to the Architect.
• Data entry of all Accounts Payable per project assignment.
• Manage credit applications for files per project.
• Review accuracy of subcontractor and vendor billings and all appropriate paperwork (lien waivers, certification, etc.).
• Maintain signed Change Orders and subcontractor-signed Change Orders for system and billing.
• Assist in maintaining Certificates of Insurance (COIs) from subcontractors.
• Assist with expense recording, job cost tracking, and data entry.
• Assist with project work including proofreading, copying, and binding presentations/client deliverables.
• Prepare and coordinate presentations and briefing material of a highly confidential nature for senior-level management meetings to ensure accurate and comprehensible presentations.
• Draft, edit, and distribute correspondence.
• Assist managers or other staff with their daily functions to ensure department goals are achieved and staff are notified of important information.
• Perform a variety of complex and specialized administrative and office support functions to ensure the daily operations of the office run efficiently and professionally.
• Assist other managers with questions and serve as the key contact to ensure all requests are responded to in a timely manner pertaining to your projects.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Focus on Construction and Development Industry Standard Cost Codes/Job Costing is a must.
• Sage, Timberline, Procore, and Timber Scan software experience REQUIRED.
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an Accounting Bookkeeper.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher with an Accounting focus.
• Knowledge of accounting within the Industry in Federal, State, and Local Municipalities.
• Accounting experience within our industry preferred.
• Ability to manage time effectively and provide innovation when needed.
• Willingness to understand corporate and industry practices and standards, processes, and activities.
• Proficiency in job costing based on construction industry standard cost codes is required.
• Ability to set up AIA formatted pay applications within the accounting system.
• Strong analytical mind who knows how to resolve problems and work well with vendors.
• Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner, and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information and convey concepts, ideas, and information to all levels of employees and external customers.
• Ability to set priorities, organize work, and work in a high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities, and tight timelines/deadlines.
• Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment.
• Microsoft Office, Project, and Blue Beam knowledge.
• Creativity, flexibility, and innovation are a must.
• Occasionally travel may be required.
