The Accountant provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports. Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
General Responsibilities
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile financial information
- Analyze current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
- Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Liaise with management to improve financial procedures
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelor's degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers.
- Prepare and analyze the excess and obsolescence of inventory, capitalized variances, and other inventory related analyses and entries.
- Monitor and coordinate warehouse counting procedures and controls with regional and warehouse leaders.
- Prepare global inventory flux analyses to be reviewed by management.
- Reconcile company and global inventory balances to inventory subledgers.
- Take part in controllership and oversight activities.
- Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Partner with internal and external audit teams.
- Assist corporate accounting team with other tasks as needed.
