Job Summary:
Mid-level professional responsible for managing and tracking the company’s total revenue, including both project and service activities, ensuring that revenue is recorded and reported accurately in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Must be capable of fulfilling the project accounting and cost reporting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or singular large project, including day-to-day interface with project management. The revenue management accountant will also be primarily responsible for margin analysis for the project business.
Duties and responsibilities:
Project Sales and Margins
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly revenues and cost for projects and aftersales activities
- Effectively communicate with Project Managers (PM), regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to billing.
- Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period.
- Set up new projects and record employee billable hours and/or expenses.
- Recommend and implement agreed process improvements to the billing cycle.
- Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders.
- Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management.
- Report on project and aftersales profitability to management.
- Close out project accounts upon project completion
Month End Process
- Assistance in compiling month-end reports
- Sales Analysis support
- Financial Package support
- Data compilation required for the above reports
- Management of month-end accruals/activities
Ad Hoc projects
- Year-end Audit and Internal Control compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- Must have three (3) years’ experience in accounting and controlling activities, specifically margin analysis
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including experience in word processing, spreadsheets and accounting software, specifically SAP (required).
- Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
- Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems to the Controller, as necessary.
