Responsibilities Of Senior Tax Accountant:
- Prepare REIT compliance tests, including quarterly asset and annual income tests.
- Prepare quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision calculations and footnote.
- Prepare annual earnings and profits calculation and supporting schedules.
- Assist with annual REIT taxable income projections.
- Responsible for federal, state, and local tax compliance, including the preparation of accurate federal and state estimated payment and extension calculations and forms.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of tax return supporting schedules, including tax consolidations, tax depreciation, and state apportionment.
- Coordinate and interact with outside accounting firms for certain outsourced tax return preparation services and other projects as needed.
- Assist with tax audits, including sales tax audits, as needed.
- Complete federal and state and local tax research as needed.
- Ensure and document compliance with internal controls. Coordinate and update process documentation as needed.
- Interact with accounting and other departments especially in regards to ensuring financial data is accurate.
What The Company Needs In a Senior Tax Accountant:
- CPA is a PLUS
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
- MUST have REIT experience
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Excellent technical accounting experience. Ability to research authoritative literature for proper accounting treatment.
- Extensive spreadsheet knowledge required.
- Ability to work with a team and ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
