With deep South Carolina roots in the greater Columbia, SC area, our brand is recognizable and shines amongst the stars. The Accounting Manager will act as the Strategic Financial Business Partner to our clients while being hands-on with all their Tax functions for all of their holdings. You will be supervising a Staff Accountant. Reporting directly to the owner, you will be in line for a profit and equity sharing right away because you will own this piece of the business.
This can be a Hybrid opportunity, but you must live/relocate within driving distance of our Columbia, SC HQ. Remote options may result depending on how well you do overtime.

Accounting Manager Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for being hands-on with the day-to-day client financials, managing/mentoring a staff accountant, and helping implement standard accounting policies and procedures.
- Active in developing financial modeling; reviewing financial results, supporting the use of KPIs and dashboards; and reviewing accounting records to ensure accuracy in accordance with US GAAP to generate strategic initiatives to increase efficiency and improve profitability.
- Support the preparation of quarterly financial analysis to be presented to leadership.
- Review month-end reconciliations and account-closing processes.
Tax Manager Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and some individual tax returns accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and advise clients on effective tax-planning strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate their implications to clients and colleagues.
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
- Work closely with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide general guidance in tax preparation, tax planning, and execution.

- 2+ years’ experience.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills essential.
- Experience working with accounting technology, systems, and software.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to make recommendations and implement changes required.
- Strong multitasking, planning, prioritizing, and executing skills are a must.
