The Role
As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Global Portfolio Marketing Manager to support our Transfusion Medicine Business Unit. This role leads portfolio marketing and partnership activities supporting the Transfusion Medicine (TM) Business Unit. A key element of maintaining QuidelOrtho’s leadership position in the TM space is through high level engagement with thought leaders and key associations advancing knowledge in this highly specialized field. That engagement includes developing insights that guide both our future product strategy and the marketing and communication efforts that connect QuidelOrtho with our customers in the transfusion community. This role includes developing the strategy and initiatives for maintaining our leadership position as a key industry partner, ensuring connection with our regional commercial teams on thought leadership and education, and developing marketing strategy and tactics supporting the Transfusion Medicine portfolio.
This position is remote eligible.
The Responsibilities
- Develops and deploys TM portfolio value & positioning tools (including structured messaging framework, claims matrix, TM Global CRM page).
- Creates and maintains a key competitor comparison matrix.
- Supports annual marketing plan development, specifically for portfolio marketing efforts.
- Creates effective partnerships with industry associations, resulting in impactful educational programs and conference participation that support brand and scientific leadership.
- Curates a robust global scientific KOL network that supports data/evidence generation, publications and education of regional thought leaders.
- Identifies and supports internal education opportunities for the organization to improve sales and marketing effectiveness.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
The Individual
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or advanced science degree preferred.
- Minimum five years’ experience in diagnostic Marketing, Product Management, or Sales required.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to drive prioritization of appropriate activities within competing priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to develop and give effective presentations.
- Strong customer orientation. Ability to interact with thought leaders and executive leaders of industry associations.
- Personal ethics and integrity necessary with a style that embodies best practices and highest corporate values.
- Travel up to 25% including airplane, automobile, or train. Some overnight & global travel required.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of the transfusion medicine space from a manufacturing and/or blood bank customer perspective strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a global role.
- Experience in transfusion medicine space.
- Experience working with compliance systems including medical/legal review processes.
The Key Working Relationships
Internal Partners:
- Business unit and commercial leadership, scientific affairs, corporate communications, commercial enablement, and region marketing and communication teams.
External Partners:
- Key industry groups specifically AABB, ISBT, and BEST, as well as with scientific thought leaders in transfusion space. Upholds company policy and direction in interactions with corporate personnel and end-use customers.
The Work Environment
No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. About 25% travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.
Physical Demands
This position will require traditional demands of that related to an office environment, which includes but not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.
Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $175,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
