Role & Responsibilities
The TEL US Senior Internal Auditor helps improve business processes and the accuracy and reliability of information used by decision makers to manage financial, operational, and commercial risks throughout TEL US. This is accomplished by developing audit programs and procedures, conducting audits and risk assessments, and making recommendations to improve operations.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Develop audit programs and procedures
- Perform risk assessments to assist in developing the annual internal audit work plan
- Execute financial and operational attest and consulting engagements across TEL US
- Develop an understanding of business processes, risks and opportunities through research and interviews with subject matter expert employees
- Document end-to-end business processes (walk throughs, process flows)
- Design and perform qualitative and quantitative data analytics and other analyses to meet engagement objectives
- Develop sound recommendations for improvements to controls and business processes
- Prepare and communicate presentations and reports with recommendations to be shared with all levels of management
- Document work performed to support conclusions and recommendations
- Utilize results from these engagements and other internal monitoring programs to assess the effectiveness of, and identify areas for improvement in, the TEL US compliance program and relevant business practices
- Work with Global Audit Center located in Japan and initiate global audit scheme as the third-line function across Tokyo Electron Group
Skills Required
- Knowledge of audit and compliance standards and methods
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques and process mapping
- Knowledge of information technology/system controls
- Identify and assess internal control policies and procedures
- Data analysis techniques, including data sampling and interpreting results
- Reach conclusions based on evidence
- Critical thinking
- Identify and assess risks across the enterprise
- Gather, analyze, and draw accurate and logical conclusions from quantitative and qualitative information
- Communicate complex and technical information in writing and verbally both clearly and concisely to senior executives to drive decision-making
- Apply project management concepts in order to plan and monitor work
- Coach peers and "upwards" to provide constructive feedback
- Establish and maintain multicultural and effective working relationships with peers and internal "clients"
- Deep knowledge of risk management frameworks and assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field from a leading institution
- 3-5 years internal audit experience
- 2-3 years "Big Four" professional service firm experience (preferred)
- CIA, CPA, CISA, or CFE certification or candidate (preferred)
- SOX implementation experience (preferred)
- Corporate tax experience (preferred)
- SAP experience (preferred)
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to thirty-five pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
