Position Summary: Responsible for the day to day management of departmental grant financial operations.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identifies and assigns payroll to appropriate sources and enter directly into WorkDay, with PI approval. Responsible for payroll costing allocations outside of Cell Biology (monitoring and confirming).
- Responsible for payroll accounting adjustments.
- Manages and monitors grant budgets and ensures appropriate and timely expenditures and reconciliation of funds. At a minimum, this is at 90, 60 and 30 days in advance of end dates.
- Prepares monthly financial reports on all funds and distribute/discuss with PIs and senior leadership.
- Processes effort reporting, in coordination with Operations Financial Analyst.
- Compiles financial, operating, and special reports/studies as directed.
- May work with PIs to provide fund management and make any necessary budgetary changes.
- Assists in development of short/long term strategic financial operational plans.
- Assists with grant and project accounting record entries, journals, and postings.
- Responsible for tracking fellowship and training grant appointments.
- Troubleshoot and investigate issues and topics related to financials.
- Analyzes and prepares comprehensive and often complex monthly financial reports on all research accounts (expected to be of a large scale/scope). Monitors, analyzes, and provides forecasts for grant budgets ensuring appropriate and timely expenditures and reconciliation of funds as requested.
- May approve purchasing documents and provides guidance to purchasing staff on appropriate expenditures according to specific grant policies.
- Responsible for cleaning up and closing out grant finances and may complete grant financial reports.

Salary Range
$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
