Primary Purpose:
To utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to provide analysis, mapping, and technical support to support the safe and compliant operation of Tallgrass Energy’s diverse assets. This includes but is not limited to coordinating updates to systems of record, completing digital and PDF mapping requests, creating data management workflows and processes, and providing data analysis as requested by customers. The Senior GIS Analyst will act as a first-line resource for completing GIS tasks and oversee the coordination and execution of routine and ad-hoc projects, tasks, and requests for the Commercial, Business Development and ROW teams.
Responsibilities
- Use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) techniques and design to create system maps.
- Support mapping and exhibit requests, digital map maintenance, data analysis and data collection/conditioning.
- Perform GIS data capture, data conversion and data entry work using a variety of software including, but not limited to, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Design and produce GIS map applications for the distribution, consumption and field collection of data associated with the pipeline, land and other activities either directly or indirectly related to the pipeline.
- Train users on GIS related software/hardware packages as needed.
- Create and manage new GIS related data processing tools and widgets.
- Review data received from the field or from project closure documentation to ensure Enterprise GIS data is correct and review supporting documentation to correct inaccurate data.
- Maintain integrity of current and incoming database information using quality control procedures.
- Maintain the software and databases for, but not limited to, PODS, SDE, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Support the implementation of the management team’s long-term goals for GIS at Tallgrass.
- Offer assistance and act as a resource/mentor to other members of the GIS team as needed.
- Interact internally and externally with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Four-year degree from an accredited institution in GIS, Geography, Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience required.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of direct work experience in GIS and database management may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- Advanced understanding of Geographical Information Systems mapping techniques and design.
- Experience in pipeline, power transmission, and/or commercial project support.
- Experience maintaining data and building maps in ArcGIS Online (AGOL) and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work non-traditional hours including occasional weekends and evenings as needed.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including a credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
Supervisory Responsibility:
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
- Experience with Commercial, Business Development and/or ROW project mapping.
- Familiarity with Pipeline Database Systems (PODS 4, PODS 7, APR, etc.).
- Advanced understanding of ESRI ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Desktop 10.x or higher, ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, Experience Builder, etc.).
- Familiarity with FERC, NPMS reporting requirements and PHMSA regulations 49 CFR Parts 192 & 195.
- Knowledge of GIS hardware/software and their function and limitations.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
