POSITION SUMMARY:
Designs by Sundown is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant. This pivotal role encompasses a diverse array of responsibilities. Key areas of focus include overseeing our accounting systems, directing financial reporting activities, and spearheading both budgeting and operational reporting. The Senior Accountant will also manage the Accounts Payable system and its associated functions, along with various other finance-related tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Oversee our monthly financial close, including monthly accruals and account reconciliations and monthly corporate reporting package.
- Collaborate with the President and Leadership team to prepare periodic financial Forecast updates.
- Assume a lead role in the transition to NetSuite financial accounting software, effective January 2025.
- Assist in the transition to operations landscape management software, Aspire, in January 2025, and provide support to other team members.
- Update and enhance monthly reporting packages for leadership, including analysis.
- Liaise with auditors and perform other compliance functions.
Budgeting:
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to prepare annual budgets.
- Analyze and report on budget versus actual variances.
Operational Reporting and Support:
- Work with functional and operational team leaders to identify improvement areas within their functions.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to help set the company's direction.
Accounts Payable Management:
- Oversee the Accounts Payable Specialist role and the Accounts Payable function.
- Manage and refine our corporate credit card program and related reporting.
- Supervise vendor management and insurance audits.
- Support the management of vendor cost data in Aspire.
Other Accounting and Finance Functions:
- Cash management and collections.
- Engage in ad hoc projects as assigned by the President or senior management.
- Assist accounting and finance team members.
- Undertake other duties as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in running the month end close process.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- A minimum of 4-7 years of relevant professional experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in using and navigating ERP systems.
- Construction Accounting (WIP reporting).
- Experience working with ComputerEase, NetSuite, and Aspire.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is preferred.

Position Range: $77,800.00 - $124,500.00
