Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to support our Controller and the larger Accounting organization. This role will be critical to managing compliance with the US GAAP, in areas such as inventory, cost accounting, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and managing cost accounting processes. This role will involve developing and implementing accounting policies, leading strategic projects, and driving continuous improvement in our accounting systems. You will collaborate with external auditors during annual financial audits, assist in financial statement reviews, and oversee a team of 2-3 accountants. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to engage cross-functionally to drive organizational success.
Responsibilities:
- Support Controller to manage monthly financial close process in-line with US GAAP; inventory, cost accounting, fixed assets, revenue recognition, AR / AP, journal entry review, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
- Help lead monthly and quarterly financial reporting resulting in 3-statement consolidated financials: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Support Controller to engage at all levels, cross-functionally to lead and drive change as it relates to US Government compliance and Cost Accounting Standards.
- Manage Cost Accounting processes and policy adherence in-line with US Government requirements – i.e., Time-Vouchering and Material Costing.
- Oversee calculation and reporting of Indirect Rates (actuals) as part of month-end close process, i.e., Fring, Overhead, and G&A.
- Manage the development and company-wide implementation of critical-path Accounting policies & procedures, as well as related policy documentation.
- Lead strategic Controllership projects including NetSuite (ERP) implementation and Inventory Management process.
- Continuous improvement of Accounting system (NetSuite), including the improvement and scalability of related business process and controls.
- Support Corporate Controller with annual Financial Audits; collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Assist Finance Manager with monthly and quarterly financial statement review and explanation of variances to budget.
- Build strong relationships with Director / VP Staff; support and engage to help drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Oversee a team of 2-3 senior / staff accountants.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of combined experience in public accounting and / or corporate accounting functions.
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP; CPA preferred.
- Heavy Industrial, Manufacturing, Aviation, and / or Aerospace background preferred.
- Deep experience in Cost Accounting and Inventory Management.
- Understanding of US Government accounting practices (FAR, DCAA requirements, Cost Accounting Standards).
- 2+ years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Positive, “can-do” attitude; not afraid to take risks with new ideas and creative solutions.
- Ability to execute multiple, complex projects in parallel while working in fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with constant change and ambiguity.
- BS and / or Masters degree in Accounting.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $140,000-$180,000 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
