We are seeking a Project Accountant/Billing Specialist to work with our Project Managers. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience/background working with billing, preferably in an engineering firm but not required. Must be capable of independently performing assigned financial and accounting functions including project setup, client invoicing, project cost and revenue analysis, and support to management. This is a remote position.
Your role
- Prepare and issue client invoices in accordance with contract terms, listing items sold and services performed, amounts due, credit terms, and dates of performance.
- Project initiation, maintenance, and closeout in Oracle.
- Prepare rate recalculations and cost data analysis, post invoices, credits, and adjustments into Oracle.
- Prepare project cost, revenue, unbilled/unearned reconciliations, and analysis.
- Provide ad-hoc reports for internal and external customers as requested.
- Responsible for maintenance of all financial records for assigned project.
- Assist with and attend quarterly project review.
- Provide accounting and financial support to management, including financial reports and account analysis.
- Serve as contact for selected clients on the collection of accounts receivable.
- Complete special projects as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree/Certificate in Accounting Principles.
- 3+ years of experience.
- Previous project cost accounting experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
