Position Overview: Starr Insurance Companies is seeking a talented and dynamic Underwriter to join our team, specializing in financial lines insurance products. This role will focus on underwriting private, public, and not-for-profit product lines, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to our continued success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate and underwrite financial lines insurance applications for private, public, and not-for-profit organizations in accordance with Starr's underwriting guidelines and standards.Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including financial analysis and industry research, to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
Collaborate closely with brokers and clients to understand their insurance needs and provide tailored solutions and advice.
Monitor and manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring profitability and adherence to underwriting policies and procedures.
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments impacting financial lines insurance.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate efficient underwriting processes and superior client service.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPCU, CIC, or similar credentials are preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in underwriting financial lines insurance products, with a focus on private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex risks and make informed underwriting decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining a commitment to excellence and integrity.

The salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $110,000
