SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is responsible for developing, implementing, analyzing and maintaining a combination of general accounting systems that will include the records of assets, liabilities, revenue, expenses, budgets, cost accounting and other financial transactions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
While no supervisory responsibilities are assigned, leadership and the ability to handle escalated questions or issues from the financial team or other corporate staff are required.
DUTIES
- Key contributor for all Month End/ Quarter End/Year End closing procedures including but not limited to review all account reconciliations for Manager review; roll forward of applicable accounts for Manager review; prepare and execute journal entries.
- Responsible for the preparation of the Month End/ Year End Corporate Reporting (“Cognos”) in accordance with the Pfeiffer Vacuum Accounting Manual (IFRS) for North America Entities.
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options; substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Continuous analysis of day to day transactions on the basis of financial analytical models to monitor on a timely basis the accurate coding of data for input to financial data processing system.
- Engages in critical and confidential aspects of accounting; maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- In close collaboration with Regional Controller and Regional Accounting Manager, provides continuous improvement and maintenance of the organizations’ cost center structure.
- Supports business wide initiatives such as LEAN; ISO: System Upgrades etc.
- Key support to the Regional Controller and Regional Accounting Manager as liaison for all external and internal schedules and coordination of completion of audit requests related to the Corporate Financial Reporting.
- Independent development of advanced financial analysis reporting with the focus of Pro-active Budget/ Actual cost center analysis review.
- Prepares and maintains all fixed asset records for the company, and coordinates and performs annual fixed asset physical inventory.
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Maintains the ERP systems GL accounts and cost center allocations.
- Responsible for compliance and regulatory filings of census data and annual reports.
- Prepares and analyzes employee and agent’s commissions per contractual agreements.
- Point of contact for insurance and maintains the company car fleet.
- Liaise with Regional Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures.
- Key Liaison to Regional Controller during departmental budget development process.
- Key support to the Regional Accounting Manager for Sales and Use Tax preparation.
- Other duties as assigned. Special projects will be a significant component of this position.

Education and/or Experience
B.S. /B.A. degree in Finance and/or Accounting; 7 or more years of related experience is necessary.
Language Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
Mathematical Skills
Excellent math and analytical skills required.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a disciplined approach.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license is required.

This position uses a computer extensively with demonstrated abilities in the use of Microsoft products as well as other common office type equipment.
