About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate for an exciting opportunity within our team. The ideal individual will be a high-potential, natural problem-solver and insight activator with a strong focus on controls, process efficiency, and optimization. They should have a proven track record of consistently demonstrating these qualities through their years of experience in accounting and finance, especially under double-breasted labor postures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all key financial processes, including the Annual Budget, month-end close cycles (creating and posting journal entries), and other recurring management reporting cadences.
- Collaborate directly with business leaders to develop and refine long-term strategic plans, road maps, and analyses to support growth goals and targets.
- Continuously improve financial processes, control activities, and systems to enhance efficiency, data quality, and overall value. Ensure these processes scale to support a growing business.
- Assist in developing and implementing goals, policies, priorities, and procedures related to financial management, budgeting, accounting, and payroll.
- Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses, and insurance records.
- Coordinate the preparation of external audit materials and financial reporting.
- Oversee and manage the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial statements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create budgets, forecasts, and financial plans that align with organizational objectives.
- Monitor compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and tax laws, including property tax filings, sales and use tax, and other reporting requirements.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and modeling as needed.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and continuous process improvement.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or professional certification like CPA, CFA preferred).
- Strong communication and persuasion skills with credibility in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Proficient in SAGE systems with experience in union-related matters (e.g., payroll, fringes).
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple divisions and providing business partnering support.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, able to effectively collaborate with both external clients and internal teams.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and computer skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Expertise in percentage of completion revenue recognition and ASC 606 compliance, particularly with large, fixed-price projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and reporting standards.
- A strong finance leader demonstrating consistent performance, flexibility, and intellectual curiosity.
- Proven ability to empower teams, enabling them to find better ways every day while partnering with the business to achieve goals.
- Experienced in understanding and translating business challenges into digital and financial solutions, working with leadership to align on innovative strategies.
- Adept at balancing day-to-day finance responsibilities with leading key initiatives that drive company growth and efficiency.
- Skilled in prioritizing the most impactful goals and delivering outstanding results, leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced, global environments.
- Proficient in data analysis to drive forecasting and identify risks and opportunities within financial results compared to plans.
- Experienced in challenging and improving core processes, using prior finance experience to foster innovation and efficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
