Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a full-time Global Analyst - Strategic Sourcing in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing data support to strategic sourcing team and interfacing will all Garmin locations to perform a wide variety of general or specialized cost analyst functions, conduct financial studies and analyses, supplier management functions and associated reporting to Operations.
Essential Functions
- Develop and track cost savings initiatives for implementation and financial impact
- Collect, consolidate and organize spend data from global locations
- Conduct price and cost analyses on sources for new commodities, and indirect components and services
- Monitor new supplier launches, PPV and expected costs and provide feedback to Sourcing on variances
- Assist managers in setting and tracking cost reduction efforts and initiate reporting
- Work with Engineering on Product in Development (PID) projects in order to develop Cost Sets from global sources and interface with cost accounting to ensure data integrity related to standard and frozen costs
- Supply ad hoc reports as required in support of departmental projects
- Identify and monitor market indicators for key commodities (ie: steel, resin, memory) to ensure pricing levels are consistent with market forces
- Project management responsibility for productivity initiatives within department and supply base (ex. EDI, iSupplier, schedule share, "digitization" efforts)
- Monitor key supplier metrics (Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service) for all global locations and identify areas where supplier development is required
- Assist sourcing managers in development and monitoring of supplier performance improvement plans
- Ensure maintenance to supplier contract obligations (ex: rebates, volume reductions)
- Support Corporate reporting requirements and assist in contract negotiation activities with supporting data/market analysis as requested by sourcing managers
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain or Engineering or related degree
- Ability to organize/prioritize work to meet deadlines with a strong knowledge of manufacturing requirements
- Knowledgeable of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII)/Master Production Schedule (MPS) process
- Demonstrated strong and effective analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines
Desired Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in purchasing/sourcing
- Understanding of database management and Oracle database tools
