The Role You Play
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting and financial books of the agency. They are also responsible for supervising an accounts payable representative and will assist the CFO with various finance projects as needed. Essential Responsibilities
- Process month end balancing and journal entries.
- Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts monthly.
- Process non-accounts receivable cash receipts.
- Process expense reports for employees.
- Hire, supervise and evaluate a qualified staff and ensure they are trained to carry out their responsibilities. Monitor performance, document concerns, provide feedback and take corrective action as necessary.
- Produce management reports upon request.
- Develop, recommend, and administer accounting policies and procedures, audit for compliance.
- Serve on committees and work groups as requested.
- Provide administrative and technical support to CFO on complex projects as assigned.
- Compile staff direct service data and update tracking reports monthly.
- Assist with year-end audit.
- Perform administrative maintenance tasks for agency vehicle fleet including titling, registration, and expense tracking.
- Process all billings for the Pawnee Endowment and reconcile accounts.
- Disburse agency credit cards as appropriate and manage accounts.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate for this position will be result-driven and will have a commitment to the mission of Pawnee Mental Health Services and its growth and expansion. A background in healthcare is a plus but not required.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field
- 2 years of accounting experience
- Personal computer skills including extensive experience using Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and communication skills using the English language
Preferred
- 1+ years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with SAGE Accounting suite.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.
