We have an immediate opening for an IT Applications Analyst for ECM (OpenText) working hybrid out of our Houston, TX or Allentown, PA office, with the possibility of remote if not local to these locations. This role is responsible for requirements definition, functional design, testing, and technical support within the OpenText application and other integrated applications. Included responsibility of this position is product and lifecycle management for the OpenText application enhancements as well as appropriate integration with other lead applications. The individual will be responsible to drive sustainable, operational excellence in the delivery of new application enhancements and future improvements.
Position Responsibilities:
Facilitate business process discussions to gather and detail business requirements, which ensure “value-add” and meet the client objectives, by documenting business requirement into detailed functional specification documents and propose possible workarounds within OpenText application.
Lead OpenText application enhancements testing and validation efforts, by collaborating with QA teams to document test cases and scripts utilizing ServiceNow. Coordinating and demoing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with business power users. And coordinate post-deployment hyper care and support as needed.
Provide end-user training for existing and future system functionality enhancement, by creating and maintaining OpenText user documentation, job aids, and short training videos as necessary, to ensure user adoption and proficiency within OpenText Application.
Conduct design review sessions with technical development leads to discuss available implementation options and best approaches for OpenText enhancements.
Understands both Agile Methodology, project execution approaches and provides guidance to other teams.
Work with the Change and Release Management team to ensure representation and coordination of projects throughout the change and release process.
Work with vendors to design and implement new functionality.
Continuously drive excellence in the areas of optimizing services and work processes, improving quality and reliability and lowering total costs.
Must-Have Qualifications:
5 + years of System Analysis and requirement-gathering best practices, with highly scalable, high-volume distributed engineering document management systems, preferably within large EPC projects.
Experience in Content Server core functionalities, including Search and Index, Smart UI and Perspectives, Business Workspaces, Document Templates, Facets and Columns, Workflows and Forms, Categories and Attributes, etc.
Demonstrable functional understanding of Extended ECM for Engineering modules, such as: OpenText Extended ECM for engineering modules, including: OpenText Transmittals, Advanced State Management, Automatic Document Numbering, Controlled Revision Tracking, Extended Secure MFT, Contact and Distributions for Recipients User Access Control.
Clear understanding of OpenText Content Server module development and integration points with other third-party applications, such as xECM for SAP.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with minimal direction.
Ability to work with different levels of stakeholders, understanding of users and business needs, and the ability to design solutions that enhance user experience and satisfaction.
Experience in working with vendors to implement new functionalities and enhancements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
Knowledge and development experience in OScript.
Experience with MS SQL Server is a strong plus.
Experience in designing and developing Live reports and WebReports.
Experience with ServiceNow for change, release, and incident management.
Knowledge in migration and upgrade to OpenText Cloud Edition (CE) is a strong plus.
Experience in document Transmittal solutions for engineering documents portals with third party vendors.
